For 22 years the American Legion Post 318 has been helping Sanders Glen honor our Veterans. This year Dick McDevitt, Bob Whitmoyer and Norm Springer carried on the tradition during the Sanders Glen Veterans Day program. Everything from the opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and message reflected the gratitude of a full crowd. The Legionnaires passed out flags and refreshments, while crowd favorites ninety-six year old Phyllis Davis and her brother Stuart provided musical accompaniment for patriotic songs and hymns. Sanders Glen Director of Activities, Nancy Reid, read a piece written by Red Skelton designed to teach us all, especially today's younger people, the definition of the Pledge of Allegiance. Sanders Glen is honored to currently recognize fifteen U.S. Veterans among our residents. We encourage you to take time today to thank a Veteran in your life.
